The Central Peel delegates attended their first conference of 2019, which took place at Queen's university in Kingston from February 28 to March 3. This was the first time that QNMUN held it's first conference, but nevertheless, the CPSS delegates had lots of positive feedback about the conference and had a great time! From debating about landmines in DISEC, to arguing about the legalization of marijuana in the Canadian Federal Cabinet, to fighting the members of Justice League in the Injustice League committee, to solving the blackout in Adhoc, everyone had an amazing time those 4 days. But, we did not go empty handed coming back home, as we came back with 7 individual awards and the Best Delegation award!

SECONDARY SCHOOL INTERACTIVE CRISIS SIMULATION | nov 2018
From November -- to ---, Central Peel delegates had the chance of attending the Secondary School Interactive Crisis Simulation conference, also known as SSICsim. This all crisis-committee conference was held in downtown Toronto, at the University of Toronto OISE building.

The 5th conference run by CPSS MUN was a huge success! With over 200 delegates attending, and 10 school delegations, including an out of peel school, the 2018-2019 MUN secretariat is proud to say that we have ran a very successful conference. The 8 committees, which included 1 GA, 2 SA's, and 4 Crisis committees, were run very well by our very own Central Peel students.

Brampton Centennial's first Model UN conference was a great experience for the Central Peel delegates. With the delegates participating in the 4 committees, which included a Death Note anime themed crisis committee, a Security Council on the issue of online privacy, a SPECPOL debating on the Kashmir issue, and an Alien vs. Earth themed Adhoc. At the end, Central Peel took home the best delegation award, claiming their second best delegation win. Overall, the Central Peel delegates had a great time at this conference, and hopes to attend to attend another BCSS MUN conference in the future.

Castlebrooke secondary school MODEL UNITED NATIONS | march 2018

The conference at Castlebrooke Secondary School was a great and successful experience, where the Central Peel delegates had a great time participating in this conference. During the conference, there were 3 crises committees, ranging from a Stranger Things themed Adhoc, an Avatar themed committee, and a World War 3 committee. Students tackled issues during the conference such as a mysterious portal opening, the kidnapping of South Korea, and an army raid. In the end Central Peel walked away with 7 individual awards, with at least one delegate winning one award in every committee, and also won the Best Delegation Award. Central Peel killed it at this conference!

University of Toronto model united nations | February 2018
The UTMUN conference was held at University of Toronto, the St. George campus, located in the heart of Downtown Toronto. This was an international conference, where the Central Peel delegates got to meet and collaborate with students outside of Canada.

CPSSMUN attended SSUNS, the foremost international Model United Nations conference in Canada, again in 2017. Sixteen delegates from Central Peel got to experience the highly competitive environment of SSUNS' committees as well as the beautiful city of Montreal, where the CPSSMUN delegation stayed for three nights, four days. These delegates got to meet international students and work with them in their committees.

Central Peel's 4th annual October conference was a huge success, with over 180 delegates attending. This was the biggest conference Central Peel held ever. Delegates from Central Peel, Harold Braithewaite, North Park, Fletcher's Meadow, Louise Arbor, Glenforest, Applewood, Brampton Centennial, and Castlebrooke attended, and were put in 7 committees. These 7 committees consisted of the GA (General Assembly), SOCHUM (Social, Cultural, and Humanitarian Committee), Marvel; a superhero based crisis committee, The Crown of Aeonia; a fantasy themed crisis committee, Climate Change, a crisis committee based on global warming, and 2 Adhocs; one based off of the extra-judicial killings in Philippines, and one with the theme of the video game, Legend of Zelda.

In May 2017, CPSSMUN had it's 3rd conference, where delegates from Central Peel, Brampton Centennial, and Castlebrooke attended. CPSSMUN held its very first General Assembly, where delegates represented nations in the core organ of the United Nations. Other committees included the Crown of Aeonia, a crisis committee set in a fantasy world of Kings and Queens; Brazil, another crisis based on the impeachment of Dilma Roussef; and Harry Potter, a CPSSMUN classic based on the fictional world of J.K. Rowling. Central Peel received delegates from all over Peel, making for yet another fun and exciting conference!

Secondary Schools' United Nations Symposium | NOv 2016

The SSUSNS conference in Montréal, Québec was an incredible conference in October of 2016. Central Peel Secondary School's Model United Nations sent 21 delegates to the conference with delegations spanning from newly-formed countries like South Sudan, to well established Scottish Generals like Sir Gilbert de la Hay. A special congratulations is extended to Janna El-Daly and Sarah Peddle, both of whom brought home awards from the conference. Janna won the Nellie McClung Award for Advocacy while Sarah won the Honourable Mention award.

This was the second conference held by and at Central Peel Secondary School and we are glad to say that it was a great success. Students participated in fast paced and interesting crisis committees tackling issues like the eruption of a super volcano in Yellowstone National Park to the impending threat posed to the stability of the world by terrorism. We would like to congratulate the exceptional delegation comprised of Central Peel students that performed outstandingly and with extreme sophistication and refinement. We would also like to thank all the delegations that came to our conference, see you again next year!

This was the first conference held by and at Central Peel Secondary School and we are glad to say that it was a great success. Students participated in fast paced and interesting crisis committees tackling issues like the invading Mongol horde to the impending doom of costal cities due to climate change. This conference exposed students, novices and advanced delegates alike, to the wonders of creating committees, background guides, directing delegates, and organizing a conference. This was the first of two conferences in 2016 for Central Peel and was the one that launched CPSSMUN into the Peel limelight and attracted attention MUNs from all over the region looking to have a great time!

Secondary School Interactive Crisis Simulation 2015
The SSICsim conference was an amazingly engaging conference that took place in November of 2015. This conference was centred solely around the fast-paced setting of MUN crisis committee. Delegates found themselves playing out scenarios fictional, literary, and historical alike. Crises like the reign of warlords in China, Athenian Peloponnesian war, to the nefarious innovation of advance artificial intelligence created an extremely versatile and captivating conference. A special congratulations goes out to Malaika Abow, Hafsa Ahmed, Harjot Sidhu, Kyle Gaspard, and Keerat Grewal. All of whom brought home a best novice delegate award, except for Hafsa who walked away with the outstanding delegate award.

This conference took place in the February of 2016 and was one of the first of the GA centred conferences for many of our delegates. Organized via the connections made by our very own secretary general, Kyle Monte, this GA based conference proved to be memorable experience. The fast paced discussion in the GA coupled with the interesting topics had Central Peel's delegates eager to represent their countries and make their respective delegations proud. A special congratulations is extended to Malaika Abow for bringing home the Best Novice Delegate award.
