about us
Hello everybody! I'm Aaditya Bharadwaj and I will be one of your two Secretary Generals this year. This means that I will be overlooking all CPSSMUN activities including the CPSSMUN 2019 conference, any external conferences we compete at, as well as all internal affairs. Model United Nations has been my passion ever since I got my first taste, and it's been an amazing experience. Throughout my time as a delegate from CPSSMUN I have participated in 6 different MUN conferences, ranging from local to international , I have won a best delegate award, three most outstanding delegate awards, and two honourable mentions. My favourite MUN moment so far has been my time at Queen's National MUN 2019 Conference, where we engaged in 3 full days of relentless back and forth over a soon-to-be post apocalyptic world. Outside of MUN, I am very passionate about climate change, economics, and basketball. I hope I can help you find MUN to be the same loveable experience I had.

Howdy! My name is Anush Singhal and I am the Under Secretary General of Academics . I am responsible for going over logistics and organization of CPSSMUN as well as working closely with the directors to formulate a generalized ROPs adopted by all committees. I will also be available to help delegates with position papers as well as directives/resolutions, either at our school conference or elsewhere. MUN has been a part of my life since grade 10 (participating as a delegate in over 4 international , 2 regional conferences and organizing 2 committees)and I plan to continue to participate when in University. My favourite MUN memory would be directing the WHO committee for CPSSMUN last year. Though it was tough, I am proud of the dias - I was so fortunate to work with - and all the delegates that participated committee. I am waiting anxiously for the magical words… Delegates, the floor is open for debate
Hello! My name is Anisha Parikh I am the Under-Secretary-General of Training, which means I overlook the training and preparing our delegates for the different conferences to make sure everyone is confident going in. This will be my fourth year in Model UN. My favourite memory would probably be my first ever conference here at Central Peel in the Harry Potter committee, it was a great first experience for me and was a lot of fun on a topic I loved. |
Hello delegates! My name is Himisha Nagar and I will be your Undersecretary General of Finance for this 2019/2020 year. What exactly does this mean? Well, basically you have to hand me your money and trust that I won’t run away with it. Just kidding! I am responsible for handling the finances of our October conference, as well as other conferences that the CPSS MUN team will attend throughout the year. I have been in Model United Nations since the ninth grade, and have attended more than five in-school conferences, and around two out-of-school committees so far. My favourite MUN experience has indefinitely been our 2018 October conference, when I had the privilege of being a moderator and organizing member of my own committee - Congress of Libya. It was my first time moderating, and hopefully won’t be the last. I’m really looking forward to the start of a great MUN year!
Hi, my name is Shaili Kadakia and I am very excited to be this year's Director of Training for Crisis Committees for the CPSS Model United Nations club. My job is exactly what my title says - to ensure our crisis delegates are trained for all of the conferences our school will attend. I am currently a grade 12 student and have been involved with Model UN since grade 10. Over the years, I have participated as a delegate and a director and I have learned that my favourite aspect of Model UN is to throw crises at the delegates just as they near a resolution. My favourite memory of Model UN is having a dramatic re-enactment of a swordfight in the Percy Jackson Commitee last year. I hope you as delegates will enjoy our October conference and make memories to make a part of your high school experience. Hey! My name is Priyanka Jayaratnam and I am happy to say that I am a part of the MUN Secretariat as the Director of Content for SA’s and GA’s. This means that I am responsible for going over any GA or SA background guides and making sure they are the best they can possibly be. I will also be helping our delegates with position papers if they are delegates in a GA or an SA, either at our school conference or elsewhere. I have been a part of MUN since grade 10 and I am now in my final year of high school! Over these years, my favourite MUN memory would have to be when my friends and I had run our own committee, the Percy Jackson committee last year. It was so much fun to see the inner workings of a committee and to see how delegates participated in a committee we created ourselves. I can’t wait for our October Conference, and I am sure you all are too! Hey everyone! My name is Sant Singh and I am your Director of Crisis Content for this years CPSS MUN secretariat! I oversee background guides and character arcs for all crisis committees for our upcoming October conference, as well as helping all delegates at Central Peel with crisis-based position papers. I started Model United Nations in grade 11, and after attending my first conference here at Central, I fell head over heels for the wonderful club that MUN is. It is not only a place to showcase your problem solving, public speaking, and diplomacy, but a place to make memories and friends that last a lifetime. My favourite memory from Model UN is when I attended the Queens Model UN conference. This was an incredible conference hosted by Queens University, where we stayed in Kingston, Ontario. It also didn’t hurt when we won best delegation! I can't wait to see all the incredible delegates at the October conference (hopefully doing the AD-HOC I'm helping run). Hi! My name is Shurabi Anphalagan and I am a member of the 2019/20 MUN Secretariat as a director of training for GA’s. As part of my position, I will introduce novice delegates into the amazing world of general assemblies! I will help delegates with position papers and background guides and lead all delegates to their full potential! I have been apart of MUN for 2 years now filled with unforgettable memories such as winning best novice for GA at CPSSMUN or running in the rain at SSICSIM to catch a train! I am excited to be apart of CPSSMUN and hope you are ready for fun this October! Hi! My name is Swathi Anphalagan! And before you let your mind wander, yes I have a twin and she is also my co-partner for our position as the directors of training for GA’s. Together, we will help guide delegates through the world of MUN. We will also look through your wonderful position papers and help with our MUN conferences. We are extremely grateful for the experience in being part of a great community of like-minded individuals in the secretariat. MUN has given me great experiences throughout my high school career, from my first time on the subway to strolling through Toronto during SSICSIM. We want to share our experiences with you and make YOUR experience just as great as ours. Cheers to another great year of laughter, debate, and heated arguments. :) Hey, my name is Jay bhatasana and I am the Co-Under Secretary General of Technology for the CPSS MUN Secretariat for this school year. I am currently in grade 12 and this is my second year being a part of CPSS MUN. The previous year I was an organizer/page for a crisis committee. I have never been to a conference as a delegate, but being a part of CPSS MUN last year intrigued me to take on a bigger role this year. I am quite proficient with technology which is why the role of Secretariat General of Technology was suitable for me. Hey! My name is Harchit Kohli and I am the Co-Under Secretary General of Technology for the CPSS MUN Secretariat for this school year. I am in grade 12 and this is my first year participating in the Model UN club. Though this is my first year in the club, I look very much forward to viewing the different conferences, committees and ultimately what makes Model UN such a renowned club in our school. This year, Jay and I have the responsibility of assisting the members with any technical assistance they may need. My experience with technology and video/audio editing softwares will help me to carry out the duties of this role to the best of my abilities. These are our teacher supervisors, Justin Schikschneit and Ryan Van Berkel, who have been part of CPSS MUN since it started in 2015. They are the literal backbone of the club, and without them, CPSS MUN wouldn't be where it is today. |
